I’m passionate about helping you live a thriving, fully embodied life — naturally.

Hi, I’m Claudia Venn

I don’t believe that receiving health care has to be difficult, stressful or focused on the negative. My goal is to provide a space where you can feel comfortable sharing your health care concerns and goals, get the healing care you deserve, and feel empowered with the information you need to experience long-term results.

My own experience with healing gives me a unique understanding of my patients’ needs. I turned to acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) after studying cultural anthropology and Chinese language in Guanxi, China, where I connected with its foundational Daoist theory nature reflected in physiology: balancing our internal and external environments allowing the body’s innate ability to heal. I received my master’s degree in TCM at the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in San Francisco.

After more than a decade in practice, my focus has turned toward accessing the latest neuroscience research with studies in functional neurology at the Carrick Institute — bringing the latest brain research into the field of acupuncture. This work couples ancient knowledge of meridian theory with modern advances in neurology. Functional brain scans prove acupuncture needles access neural pathways such as the pain matrix.

I was inspired to return to the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine as an adjunct professor when it opened one of the first doctoral programs advancing research. In addition to teaching, I also attend doctorate courses in women’s health, hormone research, functional neurology, neuro-health, and digestive health to provide my patients with exceptional care and results.

TCM has introduced me to an empowering and accessible medicine for all. I look forward to working with you on your healing journey.

When I started Venn Acupuncture, I sought out other practitioners that offer patients comprehensive care to optimize their health. That’s why I collaborate with other practitioners specializing in naturopathy, chiropractic medicine, physical therapy, psychotherapy, and functional neurology. By collaborating with these professionals — as well as medical professionals at local fertility clinics and medical groups — we collaborate to provide you the most comprehensive and holistic approach.

Grounded in Tradition

My first experience with Traditional Chinese Medicine was more than 20 year ago while I was studying abroad in southern China when some local medical student friends encouraged me to study with them.

That interest only deepened when I decided to pursue my master’s and doctorate degrees at the American College for Traditional Chinese Medicine (ACTCM) in San Francisco. Now as an adjunct professor at ACTCM, I love inspiring my students with an understanding of the Taoist philosophy behind this extraordinary medicine, as well as the practical applications of natural healing through acupuncture, herbs and meditation.

Focus on Education & Empowerment

I believe education can be one of the best means of empowerment. When we work together, I’ll always explain to you why we’re making particular choices in your treatment plan. I’ll also encourage you to learn more about your own body and recommend changes you can make in your life to uplevel your health for the long-term. You are always an active participant in your healing, and we’ll move at a pace that feels comfortable for you to integrate these healthy new practices into your life.
